Having the appropriate security certificate on the consumer applications is crucial.  Inappropriate certificates manifest themselves in connection close and other consumer-side errors.  This occurs to consumers that previously worked and suddenly have issues authenticating.

"An error occurred while making the HTTP request to https://api.prismcompliance.com/contract.asmx. This could be due to the fact that the server certificate is not configured properly with HTTP.SYS in the HTTPS case. This could also be caused by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server."
