Fund Source Types are the source of funding sources such as federal, state, local, or grant.  This is important because in the event that a fund source type is 'Federal', PRISM will include the contract, and its spend, for federal reports. 

Fund Source Types work together with Fund Sources to identify the specific funding source and its type.  Therefore, before configuring Fund Sources, configure Fund Source Types.
