Assigning a Process Workflow (New)

Send comments on this topic.

The Workflow (New) replaces the Workflow (Old).  Workflow (Old) will be depricated on 12/31/2020.  The Workflow (New) will be renamed to Workflow on 12/31/2020.

The new workflow capability provides more functionality and more flexibility for modeling your work processes by creating workflows and associating the workflows with certifications, contracts, and coming soon, payrolls and workforce.

Before you can use (associated a workflow to a contract, etc.), a workflow must be created or configured.

This section describes the process of using an existing workflow.

The new workflow tab exists in the contracts and certification tabs.  In the certification tabs, the workflow tab is named 'Workflow'.  This is because there is no workflow functionality that is being replaced.  However, in the contracts tabs, the workflow tab is named 'Workflow (New)'.  This is because it is replacing the Workflow (Old) tab functionality.  This tab will be deprecated on 12/31/2020.

All discussions from this point is about Workflow (New).

Assigning a Workflow

Clicking on the Workflow tab will display the workflow that is currently in place for the record or ask to choose a workflow to associated with the record.

For example, the following is displayed when a certification application is chosen for an applicant that has not been associated with a workflow:

A workflow cannot be shown because no workflow has been assigned to this certification application.   PRISM is asking the user to choose a workflow for the certification application.

Simply select a workflow and start the process.

Although we used a certification process in this example, the same works for assigning a workflow process to a contract.
