Program Types is a reporting configuration.  It provides extreme flexibility when reporting so multiple segments of spend may be reported without and fundamental changes to PRISM policy or configuration.

By creating Program containers, a jurisdiction may add their goal types to the Program container and report on the Program without the fear of double counting.  Program choices are available on some reports and on the Contract Spend tab.

Consider a jurisdiction with SBE goals, DBE goal, and MWBE goals.  That is, on some contracts DBE goals are set and on some SBE and MWBE goals are set.  Sometimes they are set on the same contract.  While reporting this jurisdiction may want to report on their SBE spend only or their WMBE spend only, or their SMWBE spend collectively.  By establishing the different Programs this can be accomplished.  This jurisdiction establishes the following Program to capture their spend reporting habits.

Program named "MWBE" with the MWBE goal type

Program named "DBE" with the DBE goal type

Program named "SBE" with the SBE goal type

If there is a need to report on the DBE goal type, simply select the DBE Program and so on with the other Programs. This is simple.  There is a need to report on MWBE with SBE spend collectively (with not double counting). Not so simple. Well, it is.  Create another Program named "SMWBE".  Add this to the Program configuration.

Note: In essence we established a new program that consist of two different goal types.  PRISM takes care of the double counting removal.

When reporting or listing spend, select the SMWBE program.
