Goal Setting Tab

The goal setting tab is where the majority of the work is performed for goal setting.  Because of the flexibility and enormous functionality provided on this tab, it is refereed to as a goal setting session.  Users can provide infinitely many different goal setting scenarios (called models or revisions).  The results are:

 

1.Different models that illustrate the methodology of goal setting under different circumstances

2.Artifacts for the goal selected that are defensible and transparent

3.An industry-standard methodology that is repeatable, and defensible

This section will review and demystify, in detail, the goal setting tab.  Afterwards you will be ready to set goals.

Procurement Information

Procurement header information keeps you informed about key procurement data

 

Model/Revision Number

As you create more models/revisions they are numbered here.  Click on a number to view the revision.

 

Procurement Category Information

Columns

1.Procurement Category: From the procurement. This was entered during procurement entry.

2.Industry Codes: The industry codes assigned to the procurement categories during procurement entry.  They are editable by clicking the  symbol.  Changes may affect your goal calculation.

3.Amount:  The scope amount of the procurement category.  This was entered during procurement entry.  It is editable. Changes may affect your goal calculation.

4.Weight: A calculated value consisting of Amount/ Sum (Amounts).

 

 

Model/Revision Notes

Record the modification you made to a model/revision so other may see your rationale.

 

Model/Revision Buttons

Create a new mode/revision or delete your current model.

 

Navigation

Controls the next step in the goal setting process.  Back will allow you to change goals for will confirm and submit goals.

 

Availability (repeated for each goal selected in step 1 of the wizard)

Goal Availability: The number of goal-certified vendors, in PRISM, that have industries matching those of the associated procurement category.  Each number is formated as a link.  clicking the link will display a list of the available vendors with other availability information such as: size, distance from work site, and ready-will-able responses.  The availability list is editable.

 

Total Availability: The total number of vendors, in PRISM, that have industries matching those of the associated procurement category.  Each number is formated as a link.  clicking the link will display a list of the available vendors with other availability information such as: size, distance from work site, and ready-will-able responses.  The availability list is editable.

 

Availability: A calculated value consisting of goal-certified available firms/total available firms

 

Goals

Goal: A calculated value consisting of Weight*Availability.  This value is not directly editable but can be modified by modifying the fields that affect the goal, that is Weight and Availability

 

Overall Goal: A calculated value. consisting of the Sum(Goals).  For example, if SBE and MBE were selected to set goals, then the overall goal will consist of the goal for SBE + the goal for MBE.

 

Goal History Link

After some usage PRISM stores a history of goals set basd on industry codes and procurement size.  Click this link to see the goals that were set on similar procurements.
